DIY Thrifted Wooden Tray

One of my favorite places to look for home decor is the thrift stores! I love looking around at all the items people no longer cared to keep or no longer had use for. Those things get my imagination working, trying to come up with ways I can turn them into something completely new or to even just improve on what it already is! I found this wooden tray at my local thrift store on my last trip in, and I couldn’t resist! Follow along with this DIY Thrifted Wooden Tray craft! You will not be disappointed!

Supplies:

Thrifted Wood Tray
Black Spray Paint
Antique Wax
Potpourri- or any filler you choose

First, I took the wooden tray outback and gave it a good coating with the black spray paint.

Second, once the spray paint dried, I sanded around all the edges.

Finally, I gave the tray a coating with the Antique Wax.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I absolutely love the finished result! It came out just as I thought it would, and I couldn’t be any happier with it! With the black paint, sanding, and Antique Wax it looks very Fall like to me, so I filled it with a Fall mix, and it looks beautiful! The tray was already beautiful, but with the little bit of sprucing up I gave it, it has a whole new feel, and took me next to no time at all to finish! I hope you enjoyed following along with this DIY Thrifted Wooden Tray, and have decided you’d like to give one a go too!
