DIY Thrifted Pumpkin Globe

I was so excited when I found this globe at my local thrift store. I’d seen a few projects using a globe and wanted to try one. Thrift stores are the best, they always seem to have what I’m looking for! Follow along with this DIY Thrifted Pumpkin Globe, you will not be disappointed! It was such a fun project!

Supplies:

Thrifted Globe
Spray Paints- Black, Copper and Orange
Pumpkin Face Stencil – I made using my Cricut
Black, Copper Acrylic Paints
Wire
Leaf

First, I removed the globe from the stand. I then took it outside and spray painted the stand with the black spray paint.

Second, I spray painted the entire globe with the black spray paint.

Third, after the black paint dried, I gave it a coating of the copper spray paint. I continued to add layers until I got the color how I liked it. I then spritzed it with some of the orange.

Fourth, I reattached the globe to the stand and secured the stencil I made with my Cricut to the front of the globe.

Fifth, I used black paint to stencil on the face.

Sixth, I used the copper acrylic paint to add the lines and small dots through the eyes, nose, and mouth.

Finally, I glued the leaf, and a length of spiraled wire to the top of the stand.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I absolutely love him, and couldn’t be any happier with the end result! This project definitely came together because of my last minute find of the globe at the thrift store! People are always discarding items that I find brilliant to make crafts with! I hope you loved this DIY Thrifted Pumpkin Globe as much as I did creating it, and have decided you would like to give one a try too!
