DIY Valentines Rustic Block Candle Holder

While I was sorting through all of my crafting materials, deciding which project I wanted to start next I came across an old wooden block I had saved. I knew exactly what I wanted to make with it, and dug up the rest of the supplies needed. Crafting for Valentines Day always lets me get creative, so I hope you follow along with this DIY Valentines Rustic Block Candle Holder, hopefully you decide to give one a try for yourselves!

Supplies:

Wooden Block
Tart Pan
Twine
White and Red Paint
Mini Wooden Heart

First, I painted the entire block with the White paint.

Second, I lightly sanded all of the blocks edges, giving it the worn, weathered look.

Third, I cut a very large length of twine, and wrapped it around the center of the block several times, slightly overlapping to create an “X” look.

Fourth, I painted the two mini wooden hearts with the red paint.

Fifth, I glued a red mini heart to each side of the block where the twine intersects, making it look like a bow.

Finally, I glued the tart pan to the top of the block, then set a candle into it.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I absolutely love this project, it came out just as I imagined it would! It was a blast to make and is such an original candle holder, I wish I had more of these blocks to make more, I think this will fly off the shelf in my craft booth! I hope you followed along with this DIY Valentines Rustic Block Candle Holder and loved it as much as I did making it!
