Dollar Tree Heart Christmas Ornament
I’m back with another of my Christmas Ornaments! I love to make my own decorations for the holidays, especially Christmas! There are so many different decorations that can be made for the Christmas holiday, but ornaments have to be some of my favorite! When I found this heart shape at my local Dollar Tree I knew just what to make with it! Follow along with this Dollar Tree Heart Christmas Ornament, you will not be disappointed!
Supplies:
Dollar Tree Heart
Scrapbook Paper
Ribbons
Greenery
Rusty Bell
Antique White Paint
Antique Wax
First, I removed the hanger from the heart. I then traced the heart onto the scrapbook paper, then cut it out.
Second, I gave the heart a coating of Mod Podge and then applied the scrapbook paper to it.
Third, I painted the heart with the Antique White paint.
Fourth, once the heart was dry, I gave it a coating of the Antique Wax.
Fifth, I cut a length of ribbon and glued it around the center of the heart.
Sixth, I cut a second length of ribbon that was slightly skinnier and glued that on top of the first ribbon.
Seventh, I glued a piece of the greenery diagonally at the center of the ribbons.
Eighth, I cut two small pieces of two different ribbons, forming them into a bow and glued them onto the greenery.
Ninth, I glued the rusty bell to the center of the bow.
Finally, I cut another length of ribbon, threaded it through the existing hole at the top of the heart. I then tied the ends together, creating a new hanger.
Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I love making my own ornaments. I get so much more joy hanging something I made from my tree than I do hanging store bought items! This Dollar Tree Heart Christmas Ornament came out just as I imagined it would, and will definitely be staying on my tree this year!
