Thrifted Book Holder

As many of you know, one of my favorite places to look for supplies for my craft projects happens to be the thrift stores. I always find at least one thing that piques my interest. More often than not I come home with many items! On my most recent trip to my local thrift store I came across this book holder and knew I could bring it back to life! Follow along with this Thrifted Book Holder craft, you will not be disappointed!

Supplies:

Thrifted Book Holder
Black and White Paint
Scrapbook Paper

First, I painted the outer edges of the holder with the Black paint.

Second, I traced the inner and outer ends of the holder on the scrapbook paper, then cut them out.

Third, I painted the base of the holder with the White paint. I then used Mod Podge to secure the scrapbook paper to the inside of each of the ends.

Finally, I used Mod Podge to secure the scrapbook paper to the outer ends of the holder. I then lightly sanded the excess off.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I couldn’t be any happier with the finished project, it came out just as I imagined it would. It is amazing how with just some new paint and scrapbook paper an old used, discarded book holder can have new life! I chose a black and white color scheme, but you could choose any colors you want! I hope you’ve decided that you love this Thrifted Book Holder and want to make one too! I’d love to see it!
