Garden Angel Makeover

I was so excited when I found this old Garden Angel. The perfect craft project idea came to me, and I couldn’t wait to get started on it! When I can use items that someone tosses or items that I find in thrift stores, I feel so much better about the projects. I get to bring something back to life and make it beautiful again, and those are my favorite projects! Come check out this Garden Angel Makeover, I think you’ll love it!

Supplies:

Old Garden Angel
Half Wood Arch
Star Stencil
Rusty Wire
Grapevine Wreath
Rusty Star
Stain
Red, White and Blue Paint

First, I painted the half wood arch with the White Paint.

Second, I painted the body of the garden angel with the Blue Paint.

Third, I taped off two sections of the wood arch, and painted the spaces untaped with the Red Paint.

Fourth, I painted the garden angels head with the White Paint.

Fifth, I used the star stencil and the White Paint to stencil stars onto the body of the garden angel.

Sixth, I glued the wood half arch to the back of the garden angel, creating wings.

Seventh, I drilled five small holes around the top of the garden angels head.

Eighth, I cut five pieces of the rusty wire, swirling them corkscrew style. I then glued them into each of the drilled holes.

Ninth, I gave the whole project a coating of the Stain.

Finally, I used a piece of the rusty wire to attach the rusty star to the grapevine wreath. I then glued it to the center of the garden angels body.

Here it is all finished, do you like the final result? I’m so happy with this project, it came out just as I imagined it would! I placed it outside in my yard, and it looks beautiful! When items I find that have been discarded come back to life like this it couldn’t make me any happier! Do you think you’d like to make this Garden Angel Makeover for yourself? I would love to see you take on this amazing project!
