Dollar Tree Farmhouse Pumpkin
One of my favorite type of crafts to make in the Fall months are ones using pumpkins. I recently found this wooden pumpkin at my local Dollar Tree and knew just what I wanted to do with it! Using my napkin stocks for this project was also part of my plan so I went home searching for the one that was the best fit for what I envisioned. Supplies:
Dollar Tree Pumpkin
Farmhouse Fall Napkin
Burnt Orange and White Paint
Raffia
Buffalo Check Ribbon
First, as you can see part of the pumpkin is raised. I painted the upraised portion with the Burnt Orange Paint, then painted the raised portion with the White Paint.
Second, I gave the raised portion of the pumpkin a coating of Mod Podge. I then opened up the napkin and laid it out smoothing it over the Mod Podge.
Third, I trimmed off all the excess napkin, leaving just the raised portion of the pumpkin covered with the napkin. I then used Antique Wax to cover the stem.
Finally, I took some Raffia, and the buffalo check ribbon, tied them into bows and glued them to the top of the pumpkin.
Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I couldn’t be happier with the end result, it looks exactly like I envisioned it! I’m loving how the Burnt Orange matches so nicely with the napkins colors and how the buffalo check ribbon and the raffia tie it all together. Did you like this craft as much as I did making it?
