DIY Christmas Star Shelf Sitter

I’m back with more Christmas holiday crafting! I love this time of year, being able to bring the joy of the holiday season into my crafts! When I find items I can turn into something new and exciting I can’t wait to get them home and get to work on them. I could definitely sit in my craft room for hours getting lost in creating beautiful pieces! I hope you enjoy this DIY Christmas Star Shelf Sitter, and give one a try too!

Supplies:

Star Shelf Sitter – Thrift Store
Greenery Stems – Hobby Lobby
Burgundy and Antique White Paint
Antique Wax / Berry Garland
Red & White Ticking Fabric
Scrapbook Paper – Hobby Lobby
Wood Glue

First, I completely disassembled the star shelf sitter I found at the Thrift Store.

Second, I painted the stars with the burgundy paint and the rods and the base with the antique white paint.

Third, I cut the scrapbook paper to fit the round base of the shelf sitter using Mod Podge to glue it down.

Fourth, I lightly sanded the excess scrapbook paper off and made the holes through the scrapbook paper lining up with the holes in the base.

Fifth, I used a small amount of wood glue in each hole and reinserted the rods into each of them.

Sixth, I lightly sanded the rods and along all of the edges of the stars.

Seventh, I used the Antique Wax around the base, up the rods and around the edges of the stars.

Eighth, I made circles with the greenery stems and then hot glued one to each of the stars. I then made bows with the red and white ticking fabric, gluing them to the greenery stems with hot glue after.

Finally, I used hot glue to attach the berry garland around each rod.
