DIY Farmhouse Stool

This DIY Farmhouse Stool was another amazing thrift store creation come to life! I couldn’t have been any happier when I found this stool on my latest trip into the thrift store! When I saw it, I knew just what I wanted to make with it, and I think it came out beautiful and exactly how I imagined it would. I hope you follow along and make one of your own too!

Supplies:

Thrifted Stool
Cow Scrapbook Paper – Hobby Lobby
Black and White Chalk Paint
Clear Coat
Mod Podge
Sandpaper

First, I painted the base of the stool with the black chalk paint. I then painted the seat of the stool with the white chalk paint.

Second, I cut the cow scrapbook paper to the size of the seat of the stool.

Third, I coated the seat with Mod Podge and placed the scrapbook paper evenly on top. I made sure to smooth it out, so there were no ripples or wrinkles.

Fourth, I used more of the black chalk paint and painted the rim of the seat.

Finally, I lightly sanded the edges of the stools legs. I then used the clear coat and gave it a full coating on the seat.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I couldn’t be happier with this DIY Farmhouse Stool! It came out just how I imagined it would, and I can’t wait to get it into my new craft booth! I hope you all enjoyed this craft and can find the pieces to create one of your own.
