DIY Gingerbread Christmas Tree

I absolutely love the Christmas season, and crafting for this holiday is one of my favorites. Christmas time brings so much joy to so many, and when I can craft and make something fun that brings more joy to people it makes me happy to be a part of that! I hope you enjoy this DIY Gingerbread Christmas Tree and give one a try for yourselves!

Wooden Tree – Hobby Lobby
Wood Gingerbread- Dollar Tree
Wood Snowflakes- Hobby Lobby
White Ric Rac
Red & White Check Ribbon
Enchanted Shimmer – Michael’s
White, Brown, Black and Red Paint
Glitter Snow

First, I took the gingerbread men and the snowflakes and painted them with the brown and white paint.

Second, I painted two of the four tiers of the Christmas Tree with the white paint. Then I painted the remaining two tiers with the brown paint.

Third, I used the back end of my paintbrush to make the red paint buttons down the gingerbread men, I then also did the eyes on each with the black paint the same way.

Fourth, I used the Enchanted Shimmer and covered the painted Christmas tree.

Fifth, I used the Enchanted Shimmer on the dried gingerbread men and the stars to give them that glittery look.

Sixth, I used hot glue to attach the gingerbread men to the white parts of the tree, and the snowflakes to the brown sections.

Seventh, I painted the top of the base to the tree brown and let dry. I then covered the base with the Glitter Snow. While the Glitter Snow was still wet I also sprinkled with actual Glitter.

Eighth, I cut and hot glued the white Ric Rac to the top and bottom of both of the brown sections of the Christmas tree.

Finally, I cut pieces of the red and white check ribbon to fit top and bottom of the white sections of the tree and hot glued them on.

Here it is all finished, what do you think? I love how this turned out! It’s so fun and festive I can’t wait to put it on display. The Christmas holiday is one of my favorite times to create for and I love getting to make things that put me in the holiday spirit!. I can’t wait to get to work on more ideas I have! Do you think you might give this DIY Gingerbread Christmas Tree a try too?
