I think Gingerbread Men are absolutely adorable, they are so festive and fun. Not only are they a blast to bake and decorate, but they are a super fun time to craft with as well. So who wouldn’t want one of the cute little fellas on a sign for the holiday or hanging on there Christmas tree as an ornament?! Follow along with me for this DIY Gingerbread Man Sign/Ornament.

Supplies:

Wooden Plaque- Michael’s

Scrapbook Paper- Hobby Lobby

Gingerbread Ornament- Dollar Tree

Greenery Stem- Dollar Tree

Red & White Ribbon

Red Chalk Paint

Brown Wax

Mod Podge

Hot Glue

We are going to start by covering the outer and inner sides of the wooden plaque with antique wax.

After the antique wax has dried, we are going to take our red chalk paint and cover the same spot we painted the wax with the chalk paint.

Once the chalk paint dries, measure the inside of the box to your scrap book paper and cut out the square. After you have cut out the square you are going to Mod Podge the paper to the inside of the wooden plaque.

Next, using hot glue I attached my gingerbread ornament to the inside of the wooden plaque in the center.

Once the glue to your gingerbread man is dry we are going to add some embellishments to the DIY. I added a greenery stem across the top of the wooden plaque and then a red and white ribbon on top of it. I attached both of these using hot glue.

This little guy is so adorable, he adds a little character to my Christmas tree. He can also be displayed as a sign on a shelf or a counter top. Do you think you will make a DIY Gingerbread Man Sign/Ornament?
