DIY Lemon Hanging Cutting Board

I love using napkins on my craft projects! While I was sitting in my craft room trying to decide which project I wanted to tackle next, this DIY Lemon Hanging Cutting Board idea came to me! I had this old wooden cutting board sitting on a shelf from a previously unfinished project, and knew I wanted to use it with the idea I had. What made it even better was I had all the supplies I needed on hand! Please follow along, and then hopefully you can give one a go too!

Wooden Cutting Board – Had on hand from another project that I didn’t finish.

Lemon Napkin
Dollar Tree Wooden Square
1/2 Wood Beads
Ribbons – Matching colors to napkin
White, Blue and Yellow Paint
Mod Podge

First, I took four of the 1/2 wood beads and painted them blue. I then took four more of the 1/2 wood beads and painted them yellow.

Second, I painted the wooden square and the wooden cutting board with the white paint.

Third, I cut the top layer of the napkin and used Mod Podge to secure it to the center of the cutting board.

Fourth, I glued the yellow and blue 1/2 wood beads to each side of the napkin on the cutting board. I alternated the colors on each side.

Fifth, I cut some raffia, and ribbons, which matched the colors in the napkin, and tied them into a bow with a piece of twine.

Finally, I glued the bow to the top of the cutting board at the base of the handle. I then cut a large length of twine and tied it through the hole in the handle creating a hanger.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I absolutely love how this all came together, and couldn’t be happier with the finished project! I knew I saved this old cutting board for a reason, and this DIY Lemon Hanging Cutting Board was the perfect use for it! This project will definitely be in the next restocking trip I take over to my craft booth! So what do you think, will you be giving this project a go too?
