DIY Patriotic Paint Stick Star

I love creating anything patriotic! With the Fourth of July on its way I’m been going crazy with my patriotic crafts! I’ve had a pile of these paint sticks forever, and knew I could turn them into something beautiful if I just put some thought into it! When I finally decided on this DIY Patriotic Paint Stick Star, I couldn’t wait to get started on it! It made it that much easier that I had everything needed on hand, and I got started as soon as the idea came to me! I hope you enjoy this DIY as much as I did making it, and decide to give one a try too!

Paint Sticks
Star Stencil
Antique Wax
Paint- Deep Midnight Blue, Deep Burgundy, Almondine

First, I painted one stir stick with the deep midnight blue paint. I then painted two with the deep burgundy and two with the almondine paint.

Second, I gave the edges of each paint stick a light sanding.

Third, I used the Antique Wax, and gave them each of the dried paint sticks a light coating.

Fourth, I laid the paint sticks into a star shape, with the blue one as the top focal point. Once I had them in the shape needed I used hot glue to secure them in place.

Fifth, I cut lengths of twine and wrapped them around each of the star points.

Finally, I used a star stencil I had on had with the almondine paint and stenciled stars across the blue stir stick.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I love, love, love this DIY Patriotic Paint Stick Star! It came out exactly how I envisioned it would, and couldn’t have been a simpler craft to put together! I think I may have to keep this one for myself and not send it over to my craft booth! When my crafts come out exactly how I want them to I couldn’t be any happier! I have just the place I want to hang it too! What do you think, will you be giving this one a shot too?
