DIY Primitive Candle Holder
I’m sure many of you can guess by now after seeing many of my crafts that I like the primitive look. When I found this glass vase at my local Dollar Tree an idea came to me almost immediately! Love when that happens. Sometimes I have to sit and really think about what I want to do with certain supplies I find, other times the idea is just there! I’m hoping you follow along with this DIY Primitive Candle Holder and love it as much as I did crafting it!
Supplies:
Wooden Block
Dollar Tree Glass Vase
Greenery
Metal Scroll Pieces
Tim Holtz Image
Black Paint
Antique Wax
Candle
First, I painted the wooden block with the black paint.
Second, I lightly sanded around the wooden block and then gave it a light coat of Antique Wax around the edges.
Third, I used adhesive to glue the glass vase to the top of the wooden block.
Fourth, I wrapped the greenery around the base of the vase.
Fifth, I placed the Tim Holtz image on the front center of the block.
Finally, I glued the metal scroll pieces to each of the front corners. I then put a candle into the glass vase.
Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I absolutely love this piece, the Tim Holtz image with the black backing really just pops, and I love the greenery and how it brings life to it! It has such a primitive and colonial look to it, which I love! When my craft ideas come together exactly how I imagined they would I couldn’t be happier! I’m really fighting with myself deciding if I want to keep this project for myself or if I want to bring it to my craft booth. Do you think you’ll give this DIY Primitive Candle Holder a try too?
