You have seen these little rosettes at the big box home improvement stores, such as Home Depot and Lowes. I have made pumpkins with them in the past, this time I wanted to make something different. I thought they would make a cute little snowman. Snowman are much like pumpkins you can make one out of almost anything! Come see how I make this DIY Rosette Snowman!

Supplies:

Two Wooden Rosettes, one big and one smaller. You can find these at Home Depot or Lowe’s
White Chalk Paint
Vaseline
Brown Wax
Fabric- I used red ticking
Bell
Greenery
Paint Scraper

Step one, stain both your rosettes with the brown wax. I usually paint it on with a brush and take a baby wipe and wipe off the excess.

Second, take some Vaseline and add it randomly all around your rosettes. This will prevent the paint from sticking to those spots and give you a chippy look.

Third, apply a thick layer of white chalk paint over both the rosettes. You want to really load the brush and then brush it on, try not to move the brush around too much. Let this sit until it’s almost dry.

Fourth, take your paint scraper and scrap off excess paint. One dragging motion with the scraper.

Fifth, glue your smaller rosette on top of your bigger rosette.

Finally tie some ticking fabric around his neck and add some greenery and a bell. He is all DONE! I didn’t add a face I wanted to keep him simple and neutral. You can take the idea and run with it and add a face and paint him differently. It is up to you!

Here he is all finished! I think he turned out so SUPER cute!! Do you think you’ll try to make a DIY Rosette Snowman? I would love to see it if you do!
