DIY Rustic Deer Shadow Box

When I found these deer ornaments at Walmart, I knew exactly what I wanted to make! Just the look of the deer had me thinking of when I’ve seen mounted deer heads on walls. I knew I had to turn it into some form of a shadow box, and I think this DIY Rustic Deer Shadow Box was the perfect way to showcase these deer! I used minimal supplies and put in minimal time and it still came out amazing! I hope you love this craft as much as I loved making it.

Supplies:

Wooden Box – Dollar Tree
Wood Round
Deer Ornament- Walmart
Scrapbook Paper – Hobby Lobby
Green Paint
Rub & Buff – Hobby Lobby

First, I painted my Dollar Tree wooden box with the green paint, making sure to get the inside walls covered too!

Second, I cut a piece of the scrapbook paper to fit inside of the box and glued it in using Mod Podge. I then used the Rub & Buff metallic finish around the top rim of the box.

Third, I hot glued one of the deer ornaments onto the wood round. I then glued the wood round into the center of the wooden box.

Here is the project all finished, how do you think it turned out? This craft was so easy to make but still brings out the exact feel I was looking for! With the tree scrapbook paper and the deer ornament glued to the wood round it feels just as I imagine a mounted deer head wood look showcased on a wall. I absolutely loved putting this craft together and, I hope you loved it as much as I did! I hope you give this DIY Rustic Deer Shadow Box a try too!
