DIY Rustic Let It Snow Sign
Here is another project from Dollar Tree for winter! They really do have some amazing supplies for crafting, I always seem to find a bunch of fun stuff to create with! This let it snow sign is beautiful and I couldn’t wait to add it to the design I came up with. Follow along with this DIY Rustic Let It Snow Sign and decide if you’ll give one a go too!
Supplies:
Let it Snow Cutout – Dollar Tree
Wooden Slat
Snowflake Cutouts
Tinsel Ribbon
Petroleum Jelly
Paints- White and Minty Teal
Glitter Paint
First, I painted the wooden slat, the let it snow sign, and the snow flakes with the white paint.
Second, I smeared the wooden slat with the petroleum jelly in different spots where I did not want my topcoat of paint to stick.
Third, I painted the wooden slat with the Minty Teal paint, a good thick coat.
Fourth, once the paint ALMOST dried on the wooden slat, I scraped it lightly with a scraper. You want to wait for it to be very close to dry but not fully. Scarpe off all the topcoat that was over the petroleum jelly.
Fifth, I cut a length of the tinsel ribbon, I then inserted each end into the holes at the top of the wooden slat, tying them off to create a hanger.
Sixth, I glued the let it snow cutout and the snowflakes onto the wooden slat.
Finally, I painted over the let it snow cutout and the snowflakes with the glitter paint.
Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I love this craft project, it came out more beautiful than I thought it would! The warm color of the minty green paint really brings out the feeling of Winter! I think I may be keeping this project for myself, unless I can get a couple more made. Sometimes I have a really tough time letting go of my projects, and this is definitely one of them! What do you think, will you be giving this DIY Rustic Let It Snow Sign a try too?
