DIY Snowman Screwdrivers
I love getting creative with different ways to make crafts for the holidays! Christmas is one of my most favorite times of the year and snowmen are always a blast to make! I saw a post by Little Vintage Cottage on Pinterest where she made the cutest snowmen out of old screwdrivers, I just had to make them! I found some old wooden handled screwdrivers at a flea market and bought a few, brought them home and got to work! Come check out these DIY Snowman Screwdrivers!
Supplies:
Old Wooden Handled Screwdrivers
Oven Bake Clay- White
Tin Foil
Ticking Fabric
Rusty Bell and Pin
Paints- Buttermilk, Black, Burnt Orange, Pink
Coffee Dye – Instant Coffee and Water.
First, I made three balls of the tin foil.
Second, I formed the oven bake clay around the tin foil balls.
Third, I made small indents in each ball to create eyes. I then took another small piece of the clay and created the snowman eyes. After I baked in the oven following the instructions.
Fourth, I glued each of the snowman heads to the top of each of the screwdrivers.
Fifth, I painted the wooden part of the handle, and the snowman with the Buttermilk paint. I then dabbed a small amount of the Black paint into the eyes, and Burnt Orange on the nose.
Sixth, I use the Pink paint to create the rosy cheeks.
Seventh, once fully painted and dry, I dipped my brush in the coffee mix and painted it onto the snowmen to give them a slight aged look.
Eighth, I took a small piece of the ticking fabric and secured it around each of the snowmen with a rusty pin and rusty bell.
Finally, I inserted the screwdrivers into some holiday greenery.
Here it is all finished, how do you like how they turned out? I’m loving these little guys, they are so much fun! There are so many different ways to create snowmen, and I think this has to be one of my more favorite.
