DIY Spindle Wind Chime
This craft project is a new one for me! I’ve never attempted to make a wind chime before! Whenever I come across roadside finds, I usually stop to see what I may find useful for my projects. A lot of times I’ll grab what’s there even if I only use pieces of the item. I’m usually always cutting the spindles from things I find to use in the future, and this project is one of those times! Now as I said before, I’ve never attempted a wind chime, and I wasn’t really sure how to string the chimes, so I winged it! If any of you know how to do so, feel free to use your method! Please follow along with this DIY Spindle Wind Chime, I think you’ll like the finished results!
Supplies:
Wooden Spindles
Round Wood Plaque
Eye Hooks
Fishing Line
Spray Paints
Dollar Tree Bird
E6000 Glue
First, I spray painted a total of six spindles and the round wood plaque. The colors I used are Satin Aqua, Satin Eucalyptus, Satin Vintage Teal, and Semi gloss White.
Second, I drilled a small hole into each spindle on one end.
Third, I placed the eye hooks on the under side of the wood plaque to hold the spindles.
Fourth, I placed three eye hooks on the top of the wood plaque. I then used three long pieces of the fishing wire and threaded each piece to an eye hook.
Fifth, I cut six more pieces of the fishing line and threaded each one through an eye hook and then through a spindle.
Sixth, I connected all three pieces of the top section fishing line to a small hanger.
Finally, I painted the bird and then used the E6000 to secure it to the top of the wood plaque.
Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I actually kinda love it! It came out better than I imagined it would for never having made one before!
