DIY St. Patrick’s Day Lucky Sign

I don’t usually make to many St. Patrick’s Day crafts, but this year I felt in the spirit of the day! When I found this shamrock sign, and “Lucky” cutout at Hobby Lobby I knew they would be perfect together to make the best project! I hope you follow along with this DIY St. Patrick’s Day Lucky Sign and create one of your own too!

Supplies:

Wood Round
Shamrock Sign – Dollar Tree
Lucky Word Cut Out – Hobby Lobby
Scrapbook Paper
Ribbons & Raffia
Twine
Green Paint

First, I used Mod Podge to glue down the scrapbook paper to the wood round. I then drilled two small holes at the top of the wood round, which will later be where the ribbon for the hanger will go.

Second, I gave the shamrock an extra layer of green paint to brighten it up. I then removed the hanger from it.

Third, I painted the “Lucky” cutout with the green paint.

Fourth, I hot glued the shamrock, and the lucky to the front of the wood round.

Fifth, I lightly sanded around the edges of the shamrock as well as around the lucky cutout.

Sixth, I used a small amount of Antique Wax around the outer edge of the wood round.

Seventh, I cut a length of twine and tied it through the holes I drilled out, creating a hanger.

Eighth, I gathered some of the ribbons and raffia and secured them in the center with a piece of twine creating a messy bow.

Finally, I hot glued the bow to the top of the wood round.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I think it came out amazing, and with minimal time and supplies too! This craft couldn’t have made me happier with how it turned out, and I’m struggling to decide if I want to add it to my craft booth or hang it here at home. I hope you also enjoyed this DIY St. Patrick’s Day Lucky Sign, and decide to give one a try too!
