DIY Sunflower & Bee Birdhouse

I love making craft projects for the Spring, Summer seasons! There are so many different things that can be made geared towards those two seasons, I don’t think I would ever run out of ideas! When I found this birdhouse at my local Walmart, I knew I could make it look amazing, and couldn’t wait to get it home to get started! I hope you follow along with this DIY Sunflower & Bee Birdhouse and decide that you want to give one a go too!

Supplies:

Walmart Birdhouse
Parchment Paper
Scrapbook Paper
Candle Stick
Twine
Spanish Moss
Button
Bee Button
Paints- White and Yellow

First, I cut a piece of parchment paper large enough that it will cover the front of the birdhouse.

Second, I laid the parchment paper over the front of the birdhouse, poking the perch pieces through the paper. I then trimmed off all the excess.

Third, I did the same with each of the sides, and back of the birdhouse with the parchment paper.

Fourth, I painted the roof, base, and each of the perch pieces with the yellow paint. I then painted the actual house itself with the white paint.

Fifth, I used the parchment paper templates to cut the scrapbook paper to size.

Sixth, I used Mod Podge to secure each of the cut scrapbook paper pieces to the birdhouse. I then made sure to cut the holes from the front.

Seventh, I painted the candle stick with the white paint.

Eighth, I used hot glue to secure the candle stick to the base of the birdhouse.

Ninth, I filled each of the holes in the birdhouse with some of the Spanish Moss.

Tenth, I cut a large length of twine and tied it into a bow. I then hot glued it to the front of the candle stick, adding a button to the center of the bow.

Finally, I added the bee button to one of the openings of the birdhouse.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I couldn’t be happier with the final result of this project! When I found the birdhouse at my local Walmart, I knew I could make it amazing! I love how the yellow of the roof, and base blend so well with the colors of the scrapbook paper, and the bee just ties the whole thing together! I’m hoping you loved this DIY Sunflower & Bee Birdhouse enough to give it a shot too, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
