DIY Sunflower Hanger

I love making craft projects for the Summer months. What better way to scream Summer than with sunflowers? When I came across this wooden flower at my local Dollar Tree, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. I’ve had the idea for this DIY Sunflower Hanger for a while now, and this wooden flower time was just what I needed to get the ball rolling! I hope you follow along and love this amazing craft as much as I do!

Supplies:

Dollar Tree Wooden Flower
Sunflower Scrapbook Paper
Wood Round
Burlap
Dollar Tree Bee
Twine
Paint – White and Brown Paint

First, I painted the flower with the white paint and the wood round with the brown paint.

Second, I traced and cut out the flower shape from the sunflower scrapbook paper.

Third, I used Mod Podge to secure the scrapbook paper to the wooden flower.

Fourth, I cut the circle shape from the burlap and glued it onto the wood round.

Fifth, I painted the burlap covered wood round with the brown paint.

Sixth, I painted the bee with the brown and yellow paint.

Finally, I glued the bee to the wood round and then glued both to the center of the flower. I then cut a length of twine and attached it to the back of the flower to create a hanger.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I absolutely love this craft. When I came up with this idea, I thought for sure I was going to be cutting a flower shape from wood myself. This Dollar Tree flower find was just what I needed! I love the way the sunflower scrapbook paper looks on this flower and the bee just brings the whole craft together! I’m very happy with how this DIY Sunflower Hanger turned out, and I hope you decide to make one for yourselves too!
