DIY Sunflower Standing Sign

I love to craft for the Summer months and if I can keep it around for Fall decor it’s even better! There is so much color and life in the Summer craft projects I can do, and it’s even better to do projects that I can incorporate sunflowers into them! Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers and bringing them into my crafts is a huge bonus! When I found this felt sunflower at Hobby Lobby, I had a project in mind that I knew it would be perfect for! Follow along with this DIY Sunflower Standing Sign, you will not be disappointed!

Supplies:

Dollar General Standing Chalkboard
Hobby Lobby Felt Sunflower
Burlap Ribbon
Raffia
Button
White Paint

First, I painted the entire standing chalk board with the white paint.

Second, I cut a length of the burlap ribbon to fit the width of the chalk board and used hot glue to secure it across the center.

Third, I hot glued the felt sunflower to the center of the burlap ribbon.

Fourth, I cut a bunch of raffia and tied it into a large bow. I then glued it to the frame of the chalk board, just under the sunflower, gluing the button to the center of the bow.

Finally, I lightly sanded around the edges of the whole chalk board, and stand.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I couldn’t be happier with the end result, it came out exactly how I imagined it would. This craft project was so, so Simple and took next to no time to put together. The simplicity of the project, brings out more of the beauty, I think. The sunflower against the white background of the chalk board makes the flower pop too! I can’t wait to get this into my craft booth! So what do you think, will you be giving this DIY Sunflower Standing Sign a try too?
