When I saw this sign at the thrift store I got the idea for this DIY Thrifted Haunted House Sign almost immediately. I couldn’t wait to get home and start putting this project together. I really had a blast making this and, hope that you give one a try!

Supplies:

Thrifted Sign
Wooden Frame – Michaels or Hobby Lobby
Scrapbook Paper Haunted House – Michael’s
Paints – Black, White, Purple and Gold
Antique Wax
Mod Podge
Wooden Spider and Bat Stickers -Dollar Tree

First, I removed the two clothes pins and then painted the sign alternating white and black.

Second, I painted the inside rim purple and the frame gold.

Third, I sanded down the entire sign and then used Antique Wax on it to give it that aged look.

Fourth, I took the haunted house scrapbook paper and cut it to size. Then I used Antique Wax again to give that aged look to it.

Fifth, I used Mod Podge to attach the scrapbook paper to the back of the frame, and then hot glued the frame to the sign. I then hot glued the bat to the top of the frame and the spiders to the corners.

Here it is completed! I love how this came out with the colors and the creepiness of the haunted house and spiders! This is the perfect Halloween sign! Do you think you might give this DIY Thrifted Haunted House Sign a try?
