DIY Thrifted Jewelry Box Makeover
As many of you know one of my favorite places to find supplies for my craft projects is at the thrift stores! I don’t think I’ve ever come out of a thrift store without at least one item that I knew would be perfect for a project! On my last trip into my local thrift store, I found this old jewelry box, and had the perfect craft project in mind for it! Supplies:
Thrifted Jewelry Box
Chalk Paint – Sage Green
Magenta Paint
Wooden Knob
Scrapbook Paper – Hobby Lobby
Mod Podge
First, I pulled out all of the drawers, removed all of the handles, and painted the whole box and all the drawers with the Sage Green Chalk Paint.
Second, I traced all of the drawer faces, the door, and the top of the jewelry box onto the scrapbook paper. I then cut them out and used Mod Podge to secure each piece in place.
Third, I painted all of the handles with the Magenta Paint. This jewelry box was missing one of the handles, so I also painted a wooden knob I had. I then placed them all back in place.
Finally, I lightly sanded around all of the edges of the box, as well as all of the drawers.
Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I love this, it would be beautiful in a little girls room. I used the flower design scrapbook paper and the Magenta Paint on the butterfly knobs so it felt more little girl to me, since I plan on giving this to my niece!
