DIY Thrifted Sweater Bird

It seems this week I’m all about making beautiful crafts out of the items I’ve found at the thrift store. I love to make something beautifully new out of something someone found they no longer had use for! When I found this wooden bird at the thrift store I knew I had to come up with something to make him amazing! That’s how this DIY Thrifted Sweater Bird was brought to life! I hope you enjoy this DIY!

Thrifted Wooden Bird
Sweaters – Gray and Cream Colored
Paints- Gray and Black

First, I painted the body of the bird with the gray paint, and his legs and feet with the black paint.

Second, I traced the birds body onto the gray sweater.

Third, I then cut out the bird pattern from the sweater and used a nice thick coat of Mod Podge to secure it to the wooden bird.

Fourth, I cut what I felt looked like a good wing from the white sweater and used Mod Podge to glue it onto the bird.

Fifth, I glued on a black button for the birds eye.

Finally, I glued on three more buttons to the birds wing.

Heres my DIY Thrifted Sweater Bird, how do you think he turned out? I love the new life he has with the sweater and the the buttons. There are so many different things that can be brought back to life from old thrift store finds, and this projects shows just how that can be accomplished. I hope you enjoyed this DIY enough to try and give one a shot too!
