DIY Thrifted Woodland Deer Sled Ornament
Some of my favorite crafting supplies come from the thrift stores. I always find amazing items that people no longer had a use for that I know I can turn beautiful by making a craft with them. Also, who doesn’t love sleds? They bring back so many memories from childhood, and sledding with the family, that I just had to get this one I found at my local thrift store! When I found the sled, I came up with this DIY Thrifted Woodland Deer Sled Ornament, and I can’t wait for you to check it out!
Supplies:
Thrifted Wooden Sled
Napkin
Paints – Black and White
Antique Wax
First, I removed the twine hanger from the sled and gave the base a coat of the Black paint.
Second, I painted the seat of the sled with the White paint.
Third, I used the Antique Wax on the final section of the sled.
Fourth, I opened up the Christmas napkin and cut out one section. I then added Mod Podge to the seat of the sled, and smoothed the napkin over it.
Fifth, I sanded off the excess napkin.
Sixth, I added Mod Podge to the front section of the sled and used the snow flake section of the napkin. I then sanded off the excess.
Finally, I gave the edges of the napkin covered sections a light coating of Antique Wax.
Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I love this project; it is so festive and came out amazing! I’m seriously having trouble deciding it I want to keep it as one of my personal decorations or bring it over to my craft booth.
