DIY Vintage Snowman Ice Cream Scoop
I found this vintage ice cream scoop, and set it aside a while back while I decided how I wanted to bring it into a project. When I finally came up with the idea for this DIY Vintage Snowman Ice Cream Scoop, I couldn’t wait to get started on it. This was such a fun and festive craft, and I think you will be wanting to make one too! Follow along, you will not be disappointed!
Supplies:
Vintage Ice Cream Scoop
Paints- Antique White, Burnt Orange, Black and Pink
Red and White Ticking Fabric
Coffee Dyed Tag
Stamps
Rusty Bell and Pin
Glitter Paint
First, I painted the scoop with the Antique White Paint.
Second, I used the Black Paint and painted on two tear drop shapes for the eyes, and two lines for the eye brows.
Third, I again used the Black Paint, and painted a large “U” for the mouth. I then used the Pink Paint and blotted on two rosy cheeks.
Fourth, I used the Burnt Orange Paint and painted the shape of a carrot for the nose.
Fifth, I used the Antique White Paint and painted a couple lines and a dot into each eye.
Sixth, I used the Glitter Paint and gave the scoop a good coating.
Seventh, I cut a small piece of the red and white ticking fabric and tied it into a knot around the handle of the scooper.
Eighth, I took the coffee dyed tag, used the stamps and stamped on “YUM!”. I then used the rusty pin, hooked the rusty bell and the tag and attached it to the knot of the ticking fabric.
Finally, I cut a length of the twine and wrapped it around the top of the scoops handle tying the two ends into a knot, creating a hanger.
Here it is all finished, how do you think it came out? I absolutely love this project, it is so fun, and so festive. This couldn’t have come out any better and looks exactly how I envisioned it would. I’m so glad I held onto this old vintage ice cream scoop, because it absolutely made the project!
