DIY Vintage Style Halloween Busted Canvas
The busted canvas is a recently new craft to me, and I’m loving it! I have seen these done in many different ways and I wanted to give my spin on them! Halloween seemed like the perfect holiday to give it a try for! I’m always looking for new and exciting craft projects to make and I couldn’t be happier with how this DIY Vintage Style Halloween Busted Canvas turned out! Follow along, and decide if you’d like to give one of these a try for yourselves too! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
Supplies:
1 11×14 Stretched Canvas
1 11×14 Flat Canvas
Halloween Scrapbook Papers – You’ll need 3 different styles.
Dollar Tree Pumpkin Sign
Faux Spiders
Faux Spider Web
Black Paint
First, I painted around the edges of both of the canvas’ with the black paint.
Second, I took one of the pieces of the scrapbook paper I chose for this project and used Mod Podge to attach it to the front of the stretched canvas.
Third, I used Mod Podge to attach the spider web scrapbook paper to the inside, back of the stretched canvas.
Fourth, I attached the last piece of scrapbook paper to the center of the flat canvas.
Fifth, I took the pumpkin from the pumpkin sign and attached it to the center of the flat canvas.
Sixth, I cut sort of a star pattern through the stretched canvas.
Seventh, I glued the flat canvas to the back of the stretched canvas. I then folded back the cut pieces on the front and glued them down. This created the peeling look.
Finally, I spread some of the faux spider web over the front of the canvas, making sure to get some in between the peeled back pieces. I then glued the faux spider to the bottom corner of the canvas.
Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I absolutely love this project, and being such a new craft for me, I think it came out amazing! The scrapbook papers I chose along with the pumpkin I found just all really brought the project together. I definitely couldn’t be any happier with this project, and can’t wait to get it into my craft booth. This DIY Vintage Style Halloween Busted Canvas will definitely be a huge hit!
