Gingerbread Houses are always so fun to make, but let’s face it they get gobbled up quicker than the time that it takes to make them. So why not make one that we can have for the entire season and nobody will be sneaking a bite out of?!? Follow along with me for a Dollar Tree Gingerbread Doll House.

Supplies:
Doll House- Dollar Tree
Paints- White, Brown, Red, Black
Faux Snow
Mini Gingerbread Cut Outs- Dollar Tree
Small Wood Slat- Dollar Tree
2 Mini Trees
Small Bits of Greenery

Start by popping the doll house apart. Now paint the roof, accents on the house and the wood slat with your white paint. Paint the roof windows and the body of the house brown. The door will get painted red. The paint took a few coats to completely cover the plastic.

Once the paint has completely dried go ahead and put the house back together.

Now paint your mini gingerbread cut outs, using brown for their bodies, red for their buttons and add some white embellishments to their hands and feet.

After the original paint on the cut outs dry add some black paint dots for their eyes and use your white paint to add mouths. I had some mini bows from other projects and added one as a bow tie for a gingerbread boy and one as a hair bow for a gingerbread girl.

Next I added my small bits of greenery around the windows. I also used some hot glue and secured my gingerbread house to the wood slat.

Once I got my house attached to the wooden slat I went ahead and added my gingerbread cut outs and my mini trees. I attached these to the slat with hot glue as well.

After I got everything in place I added some faux snow to the front of the house on the wooden slat as well as to the roof of the house itself. I also dusted a little across the trees and the gingerbread cut outs.

This came out even cuter than I expected, I love how all the colors work together to bring a super holiday feel. This could be a fun project to do with the kiddos as well. Do you think you will make a Dollar Tree Gingerbread Doll House?

Thank you! No I didn’t add a backing, I left it open to add candles if I wanted to. I also did not scuff it up, just painted it.

So cute! Did you decorate the mini trees, or did you buy them already decorated? If so, where? Thank you.
