Pumpkins, apples, falling leaves, crisp air, bonfires and cider…what isn’t to love about Fall?!? After dealing with the heat all Summer everybody gets a little excited once the weather starts to cool off and all the fun Fall festivities start. So let’s start crafting some fun Fall projects to go with the season. Follow along with me for a Dollar Tree Gold Leaf Cutout.

Supplies:

Wooden Leaf- Dollar Tree

Gold Leaf Tule- Dollar Tree

Gold Paint, Off White Paint

Ribbon

Button

I started by using a heat gun to detach the smaller wooden leaf from the larger wooden leaf

I used my off white paint and covered the smaller leaf. Once the paint dried I covered the leaf with a layer of Mod Podge.

While the Mod Podge is still wet lay your tulle over the small leaf. Let sit until Mod Podge dries.

Once the Mod Podge is completely dry use a razor to cut off the excess tulle.

Next paint the large leaf with your gold paint. This may take more than 1 coat, make sure to completely cover the leaf.

Once the paint on the large leaf has dried, reattach the small leaf to the front. This is going to be held in place using both wood glue and hot glue.

Now run your ribbon through the 2 holes at the top of the larger leaf. Tie 2 small knots to hold the ribbon in place.

Again using your ribbon, make a small bow for the center of the leaf. Attach using hot glue. Once the ribbon is on go ahead and hot glue your button to the center of the bow.

This project came out awesome, I love the “fancy” look it has. It would look amazing hanging in any window or on any door in the house. Do you think you will make a Dollar Tree Gold Leaf Cutout?
