Do you decorate in a nautical theme? I do not but do enjoy making nautical and beachy decor, I LOVE the beach! I have grown up living pretty close to the beach and worked almost directly on the beach for 10+ years. It is one of my favorite places to be! So, why not make some decor that makes me feel like I am there! Follow along as I make this super cute and EASY Dollar Tree Nautical Sign!

Supplies:

Dollar Tree Frame
Paints
Anchor Burlap – Dollar Tree
Shell
Sand
Wood Cut Out – Joann’s

I did not end up using the boats in the above pic.

First, I sanded down my Dollar Tree sign. This helps the paint adhere better.

Second, I did a few coats of white chalk paint all over the whole frame.

Third, I cut a piece of the Dollar Tree nautical burlap to fit inside the frame and then Mod Podged it into place.

Fifth, I painted this cut-put form Joann’s in sort of an ombre look. I used a few different blues and white and then a color to resemble sand.

These are the colors I used to paint the cut-out.

Once I had it all painted, I added some real sand to the bottom using Mod Podge.

Once my sand was dry, I hot glued the cut-out to the center of my burlap.

Finally, for a finishing touch I added a little shell on the bottom in the sand!

How absolutely beautiful did this turn out?! LOVE it!! It was also super easy to make! Who doesn’t love projects like that!? How cute would this look on a bookshelf or tier tray for summer! Do you think you’ll make this Dollar Tree Nautical Sign?
