May might have just started, but Summer is knocking on the door. All those fun flag holidays that we all love to celebrate are going to be here before we know it. Let’s start getting some projects together to decorate for them. Follow along with me for a Dollar Tree Patriotic Crate.

Supplies:
Dollar Tree Crate
Small Metal Buckets- Thrifted
Red and White Ticking- Coffee Stained
Blue Polka Dot Fabric- Coffee Stained
Florals- Coffee Stained
Antique Brown Wax
Antique White Paint

Start by painting your wooden crate with the antique white paint. Once the paint has dried go over it with the antique brown wax and then wipe off. If it’s Patriotic I like it rustic lol!

Now go ahead and add your ticking fabric to the slats on the front of the crate and then add a blue square of fabric to the top left corner; making the fabric look like an American flag. I used Mod Podge to attach the fabric. These fabric strips are from ones I ripped a coffee dyed a while ago. I usually make a big batch ahead of time to go with whatever season I’ll be crafting next.

Next I took the purple flowers out of the pails and left the foam in them. Then I added new florals to the metal buckets and then placed them inside of the wooden crate.

I absolutely love how this all came together. The final look was so much better than I had pictured in my head. This would look adorable in a window for the Summer months. Do you think you will make a Dollar Tree Patriotic Crate?
