Dollar Tree Rustic Flag

I love this time of year when I can start making my patriotic crafts! There are always so many different project ideas floating around in my head that I never can choose which one to make first. When I found this sign at my local Dollar Tree one of my ideas was about to come to life! Come check out this Dollar Tree Rustic Flag, you will not be disappointed!

Supplies:

Dollar Tree Sign
Paints- Almondine, Deep Burgundy, Deep Midnight Blue
Fabric Strip
Rusty Bell and Pin
Dark Walnut Stain

First, I taped off the top section of the sign and painted it with the Deep Midnight Blue Paint.

Second, I painted the whole bottom section of the sign with a coating of the Almondine Paint.

Third, I laid down painters tape into stripes, evenly spaced apart.

Fourth, I painted those sections with the Deep Burgundy Paint.

Fifth, I removed the painters tape, leaving behind the red and white stripes.

Sixth, I used a length of wire and threaded it through each hole in the top of the sign. I twisted up the ends to prevent it from coming back through, creating the hanger.

Seventh, I gave the whole sign a coating of the Dark Walnut Stain.

Finally, I used the strip of fabric and tied it into a bow, gluing it to the section of the sign between the blue and the stripe section. I then used the rusty pin to attach the rusty bell to the bow.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I’m so happy I found this sign because it absolutely made this project! I love being able to make my patriotic crafts and this one is one of my more favorite ones so far this year! I’m always getting asked for flag projects, and this one will be a hit! Do you think you’ll give this Dollar Tree Rustic Flag a try?
