Dollar Tree Shabby Chic Bunnies

When I found these wooden bunnies at Dollar Tree, I knew exactly what I wanted to make with them. If you saw my video on Facebook, I did the girl bunny on there. I love it when I make my rounds through Dollar Tree and find new items I haven’t used before that I can turn into my own beautiful crafts. When you can take a plain item and turn it into something amazing, there really couldn’t be anything better. I hope you follow along with this Dollar Tree Shabby Chic Bunnies craft and create them too!

Supplies:

Dollar Tree Wooden Bunnies
Scrapbook Paper – Hobby Lobby
Blue and Pink Paint
Antique Wax
Muslin
Cheese Cloth
Burlap
Letter Stamps
Rosettes

First, I painted with the blue paint around the outside of the bunny, and halfway into the center making sure all edges were covered. I also did the same to the second bunny with the pink paint. I made sure that I flipped the bunny over so that when finished they would be facing each other.

Second, I traced each bunny onto the scrapbook paper and cut them out.

Third, I used Mod Podge to secure the scrapbook paper to each of the bunnies.

Fourth, I used the Antique Wax around the edges of each of the bunnies.

Fifth, I cut s small rectangle out of the muslin and a length of the cheese cloth, and made them into a bow. I then hot glued them onto the blue bunny. After that, I cut a long length of cheese cloth and tied a large bow around the neck of the pink bunny.

Sixth, I hot glued the blue flower onto the bow of the blue bunny, and the yellow flower to the bow of the pink bunny.

Finally, I cut two small rectangles out of burlap, and two small rectangles from muslin. I then stamped “hip” and “hop” onto the two pieces of muslin. After that I glued one of each sets overlapping onto each of the bunnies tail ends.

Here is the final result, how do you think they turned out? I absolutely love this craft project, and couldn’t be happier with the final result. With the different pieces of scrapbook paper and the blue and pink paint, the Mr. and Mrs. came out more amazing than even I pictured. I can’t wait to get these two into my craft booth on my next trip over. I hope you followed along with this Dollar Tree Shabby Chic Bunnies craft and are able to pull them together too!
