Dollar Tree Sign Flag Shelf Sitter

Dollar Tree signs are some of my favorite to craft with, I can take them and make them my own so easily. On my last trip to my local Dollar Tree I already had an idea in mind for this Dollar Tree Sign Flag Shelf Sitter, so I just had to find the perfect sign to make it with. I came across this blessed sign and knew it would be perfect. I’m hoping you love this DIY as much as I did creating it and decide you want to give it a go too!

Supplies:

Dollar Tree Sign
Red & White Ticking Fabric
Blue Fabric
Wooden Star
Wooden Letters U, S and A
White & Blue Paint
Antique Wax

First, I took the sign apart, and removed the “blessed” lettering. I then used the white paint to give it a fresh coating.

Second, I cut a piece of the red and white ticking fabric to fit the inside of the sign, securing it with Mod Podge.

Third, I cut a small piece of the blue fabric and used Mod Podge to secure it to the top left corner of the ticking fabric. This created the American Flag look.

Fourth, I painted the U-S-A letters with the blue paint. I then used Antique Wax around the edges of the star.

Fifth, I reinserted the center of the sign and secured the U-S-A letters to the bottom right hand corner.

Finally, I secured the wooden star to the center of the blue fabric in the top corner.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it looks? I couldn’t be happier with the final outcome, It looks exactly how I pictured it would when the idea came to me! When craft projects come out how you want them to with very little tweaking to the process it’s definitely a win! This Dollar Tree Sign Flag Shelf Sitter will definitely be in my next restocking trip to my craft booth! Do you think you may give this one a shot too?
