On one of my many trips to flea markets, yard sales and thrifting I came across this little garden trowel. I have had it for years, and never did anything with it, until now. I had grabbed these beautiful napkins from The Christmas Tree Shop a while ago also, and realized they would be PERFECT for this project! It is funny when you have supplies laying around and it takes you forever to realize they belong together!? I also used this napkin in another project on Facebook, you can find it here! Well, let’s get to the project, come follow along on this garden trowel makeover!

This is what you’ll need:
A napkin or even a pretty tissue paper
Mod Podge
White and black paint
Raffia or ribbon of your choice
Trowel

The first thing I did was paint the handle black, then painted the trowel itself white.
Second I took the napkin and cut out one square and then peeled apart the layers. Next I Mod Podged it onto the trowel. I let it dry and then sanded off the excess.

Finally I added a raffia bow at the base of the handle. It was the perfect final touch! You can add an outdoor sealer if you wanted to keep it outside.

This just turned out soo CUTE! I love it! It would make such a great Mother’s Day gift!

ADORABLE!! I hope you enjoyed this garden trowel makeover and that it has inspired you to make one! If you enjoyed it, check out my other posts below for more inspiration!
