I absolutely love poking around thrift stores, it makes me feel like a little kid on Christmas morning, you just never know what you’re going to find. One of my favorite things about them is that you can always find things that might need a little makeover to show their full potential. I saw this little gingerbread house spoon and even though it was cute as is I knew it needed a little help. Follow along with me for a Gingerbread Spoon Makeover.

Supplies:

Gingerbread House Spoon- Thrift Store

Paints

Brown Wax

Enchanted Shimmer Paint- DecoArt

I painted over the gingerbread house with colors I thought were more suitable for the holiday. I did keep some of the colors the same but went over them to give them a brighter look.

After the paint on the house dried I went over the actual wooden spoon with some brown wax to give it a more aged look and to clean it up a bit.

After everything was dry I finished up by putting a coat of enchanted shimmer paint over the entire house.

This was a quick little project, minus waiting for things to dry. I think it came out super cute, not only would it look great hanging in any kitchen or nestled in on a hutch shelf, but it would make a great gift for the baker or cook in your life. Do you think you will do a Gingerbread Spoon Makeover?
