I love to craft for Spring time, and what better way to represent Spring than to make something with birds? When I found these little birds at Hobby Lobby, I knew just what I wanted to do with them. This DIY craft was so simple, quick and easy to make it took no time at all. I hope you enjoy these Hobby Lobby Bird Makeovers and give them a try for yourselves too!
Hobby Lobby Birds
Chalk Paints – Primitive and Sage
First, I took one of the two birds and gave him two coats of the Primitive chalk paint.
Second, I lightly sanded him to give a little distressed look, then coated him with the Antique Wax.
Third, I used a baby wipe to wipe off the excess Antique Wax.
Fourth, I took the second bird and gave him two coats of the Sage chalk paint.
Finally, once again I lightly sanded him to distress the paint, and then coated him with the Antique Wax. I then used the baby wipe again to get off the excess wax.
Here they are all finished, how do you think they turned out? I love how two of the same item can look so different with just a change in paint color! These two birds came out beautiful, and would look amazing sitting on any shelf or maybe even a window sill. I can’t wait to get these little guys into my new craft booth on my next trip over. I hope you enjoyed these Hobby Lobby Bird Makeovers as much as I liked crafting them!
