Patriotic Barn Star

I love to create anything patriotic, and when I came across this old barn star I had stashed away I knew I had to make something beautiful with it. What better way to make a patriotic craft than to use a giant star? I think I may just have to keep this craft for myself and hang it this upcoming holiday season! As always I used my signature colors for this Patriotic Barn Star and they really bring it all together. I hope you follow along and can make one of your own as well!

Supplies:

Old Barn Star
Star Stencil
Outdoor Clear Coat
Paints- Deep Burgundy, Deep Midnight Blue, Almondine
Antique Wax

First, I tapped off a big section of the top left corner of the star, and then painted that with the deep midnight blue paint.

Second, I used the deep burgundy paint to paint in the alternating spots left on the star.

Third, I used the almondine paint to paint in the rest of the empty star spaces.

Fourth, I used a star stencil that I had on hand and stenciled in the stars in the blue section.

Fifth, I gave the edges of the white sections of the star a coating of the Antique Wax.

Finally, I took the star outside and gave it a nice coating of the outdoor clear coat.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I could absolutely not be any happier with the end result of this craft project. This Patriotic Barn Star took me hardly any time to make and it came out beautiful. I’m really hoping that you loved it as much as I did making it and that you decide you want to give it a shot too! What do you think, will you be giving this one a go?
