Patriotic Hanging Flag Sign
I love creating Patriotic crafts, as many of my followers know! Using the same colors keeps the theme too! I knew when I saw this sign in the thrift store that I wanted to turn it into a Patriotic craft, I just had to sit down and think about exactly how I wanted it to look. When I got the final idea in my head I ran with it, and I think it came out amazing! I hope you follow along with this Patriotic Hanging Flag Sign and decide to give one a shot too!
Supplies:
Thrifted Hanging Sign – It was originally from Hobby Lobby
Star Stencil
Antique Wax
Paints – Red, White and Blue
First, I took the hanging wooden sign from the stand and painted it with the almondine paint.
Second, I used masking tape to tape off even lines.
Third, I painted the untaped lines with the deep burgundy paint. I then removed the tape from the almondine.
Fourth, I used a star stencil I had on hand that I liked for this project and taped it to the center of the sign. I then painted in the stencil with the deep midnight blue paint.
Fifth, I painted the stand with the Antique Wax. I also added Antique Wax to the sign.
Finally, I cut two lengths of twine and weaved it back through the holes of the sign, hanging it back onto the stand.
Here is the final result of this project, how do you think it turned out? I couldn’t be any happier with this craft, I think it came out amazing! Patriotic crafts are some of my favorite to make, and this one just so happens to be one of my most recent favorites! I hope you followed along and decide to give one a try too!
