Primitive Candle Wall Sconce

Thrift store finds are some of my favorite crafting supplies! I can almost always find something at the thrift stores that I know will make an amazing craft! When I was out scouring for supplies and stopping in at the thrift stores in my area I happened to find this beautiful old wooden wall sconce that I just had to have! I had the perfect plan for this particular find, and I couldn’t wait to get it home and get started! I hope you follow along with this Primitive Candle Wall Sconce and decide you want to give one a try too, and are able to find something similar to turn your craft beautiful just like this one came out!

Supplies:

Thrifted Wooden Wall Sconce 
Pip Berry Candle Ring
Spanish Moss
Black Chalk Paint 
Grubby candle
Antique Wax

First, I painted the thrifted wooden wall sconce with the black chalk paint.

Second, once the paint dried I gave it a light sanding.

Third, I gave it a coating of the Antique Wax.

Fourth, I placed the pip berry candle ring into the sconce.

Fifth, I put some of the Spanish Moss around the inside of the candle ring.

Finally, I placed a grubby candle into the center, completing the project.

Here is the finished result, how do you think it turned out? I absolutely love this craft, it came out exactly as I envisioned it would! When I find items at the thrift stores that come out as such a beautiful crafts, I really couldn’t be happier! It never ceases to amaze me of some of the things that can be found in thrift stores. There are so many things people get rid of that could either be brought back to life or made to look even better with just a little imagination!
