Primitive Thrifted Sheep Pull Toy

Thrift stores are some of my favorite places to shop for crafting supplies! It’s amazing what some people will get rid of that I can turn into something that is absolutely beautiful after not being used for so long! Sometimes I find items that I turn into something completely different than what it was intended for and sometimes I just love to make that item come alive again. I don’t remember the last time I walked out of a thrift store and hadn’t purchased something! I’m hoping you love this Primitive Thrifted Sheep Pull Toy as much as I loved crafting it!

Thrifted Sheep Pull Toy
Wooden Bead
Black and Burgundy Paint

First, I removed the pull string, I then painted the base of the sheep pull toy with the burgundy paint.

Second, I painted the feet and the mouth of the sheep with the black paint. I then painted the wheels of the pull toy with the black paint as well.

Third, I used the yarn and started wrapping it around the body of the sheep, securing it with hot glue. I continued this until the entire sheep was covered with the yarn.

Fourth, I cut a length of twine to use as a new pull cord and knotted it through the hole.

Fifth, I painted the wooden bead with the black paint.

Finally, I put the bead at the end of the twine and tied a knot to keep it on.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it came out? I love the yarn on the sheep, it makes him look so realistic! I couldn’t be happier with this craft project. When I can take something someone got rid of that was completely plain looking and bring it to life, I couldn’t ask for anything better! This Primitive Thrifted Sheep Pull Toy would look amazing just sitting on a shelf as a decorative piece. I can’t wait to get him into my craft booth on my next trip over. What do you think, will you be giving this one a try for yourself?
