Scarecrow Overalls

What screams Fall more than a scarecrow? I don’t think anything other than a bunch of pumpkins stands that stands out more to me than scarecrows! When I was trying to decide how to pull my next project together and idea struck me, and I went on the hunt for the perfect pair of overalls to get it done! I think you’ll love this project as much as I did putting it together, so follow along with this Scarecrow Overalls DIY and decide for yourself!

Supplies:


Thrifted Kids Overalls
Raffia
Fabric
Burlap
Sunflowers

First, I cut a couple piece of the raffia and tied one around the bottom of each pant leg.

Second, I cut two big bunches of the raffia and filled the bottom of each pant leg with it. I cut the ends to about the same lengths.

Third, I cut a bit more raffia, and spread it out through the front pocket of the overalls.

Fourth, I added more raffia to each of the side pockets.

Fifth, I cut two squares of burlap and three slightly smaller squares of fabric. I then glued two of the pieces of fabric to each of the pieces of burlap and glued those to a couple spots on the overalls. I then glued just the fabric piece onto another spot.

Sixth, I cut a small amount of raffia, and along with the larger sunflower glued those to the upper burlap/fabric patch.

Finally, I glued the smaller sunflower to the second burlap/fabric patch. I then hung the overalls from an old wooden clothes hanger.

Here it is all finished, how do you think it turned out? I love this project, it came out exactly how I envisioned it would. I couldn’t be any happier with it, and it was so, so simple to make! You could always change yours up and leave things out of add more of your own ideas, but I absolutely love this! I hope you’ve decided that you’d like to make these Scarecrow Overalls too!
