Thrifted Christmas Sconce
I love shopping for supplies for my craft projects at the thrift stores! It always amazes me what I find, and what people no longer have a use for! Sometimes I’ll look at an item and wonder how I can bring it back to life, and sometimes I look and wonder how I can change it and make it look better than it originally did. Come check out this Thrifted Christmas Sconce, I think you’ll love it!
Supplies:
Thrifted Sconce – mine had a broken mirror
Black Paint
Metal Scroll Piece
Bottle Brush Tree
Scrapbook Paper
Cardboard
First, I painted painted the entire sconce with the Black Paint.
Second, I cut the cardboard to the length of the sconce, and then I cut the scrapbook paper to the size of the cut cardboard, and used Mod Podge to secure it on.
Third, I lightly sanded around the edges of the sconce, giving it that used look.
Fourth, I glued the scrapbook covered cardboard to the back of the sconce.
Fifth, I stuck the bottle brush tree into the candle holder part of the sconce.
Finally, I glued the metal scroll piece to the top center of the sconce.
Here it is all finished, how do you like how it turned out? I love this piece, it came out just as I envisioned it! When items I find at the thrift stores come out exactly how I wanted them to and look better than how I found them I couldn’t be happier. Sometimes I like how I make them over better than what they originally were used for! Do you think you’ll try this Thrifted Christmas Sconce too?
