Thrifted Deer Sign Makeover

As many of you know, I love to go to the thrift stores to find my crafting supplies! I always find at least one item every time I’m in a thrift store, but more often than not I leave with several. You should definitely check out your local thrift stores to see what you can find. When I came across this deer sign I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. Follow along with this Thrifted Deer Sign Makeover and let me know if you want to make it too!

Supplies:

Thrifted Deer Sign
White Paint
Scrapbook Paper – Hobby Lobby
Glitter

First, I removed the deer plaque from the wood. I then traced the wood shape onto the scrapbook paper, then cut it out.

Second, I used Mod Podge to secure the scrapbook paper to the wood.

Third, I painted the deer plaque with White paint.

Fourth, I covered the deer plaque with glitter.

Finally, I glued the deer plaque back onto the scrapbook paper covered wood.

Here it is all finished, what do you think, do you like how it turned out? I love it, with just a small amount of change I made a plain looking sign into something even more beautiful! I debated whether to keep the deer dark, or to paint it White with glitter, and the White won out! The scrapbook paper definitely ties it together too! What do you think, will you be giving this Thrifted Deer Sign Makeover a go? Let me know!
