Thrifted Magazine Holder Makeover

I fell in love with this magazine holder when I found it in the thrift store! There was an instant idea that popped into my head, and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. Thrift store finds are some of my favorites to craft from, and there are so many endless possibilities that can be made with some of the things I come across! I hope you follow along with this Thrifted Magazine Holder Makeover and give one a try for yourselves!

First, I stained the entire magazine holder.

Second, I placed the stencil for the main focal point evenly on the magazine holder. I then taped it down and used white paint to stencil the words on.

Third, I moved the stencil to get the “ANTIQUES” stenciled on, the moved again to get the final design in place.

Fourth, I made sure everything I wanted to stencil was exactly right and this is that result.

Finally, I wrapped a length of twine around the center of the handle, securing it with a small amount of hot glue.

This is the project completely finished, how do you think it turned out? I couldn’t be happier, taking something plain and ordinary and bring life to it with just a few simple steps! This Thrifted Magazine Holder Makeover took such a small amount of supplies, and also very little time to complete and still came out amazing! I can’t wait to get this craft into my new craft booth on my next trip over!

As many of you know I have rented a new booth space in a local shop here in New England and have started creating for my booth. I will be sharing my creations on my blog and on my social media. We can talk about what sold and what didn’t, what is working and what is not. We can also talk about my adventures with my new booth!  I have previously had a booth for 15 years in a different location and while I did well it just wasn’t a fit for me any more. I am excited to see where my new journey takes me and hoping to share my knowledge along the way!
