Who doesn’t love to craft for Halloween? I absolutely love to create for Fall and Halloween and these DIY Burlap Witch & Scarecrow Hats were a blast to make! There are so many different and fun ideas that could be used to make these and this was what I came up with! I hope you enjoy this DIY and give it a try too!

Supplies:
HATS:
Burlap
Something Round- I used a small bowl
Pins
Mod Podge
WITCH HAT:
Black Paint
Muslin Square
Stamp
Cheese Cloth – Coffee Dyed
Rusty Bell
Safety Pin-Rusty
Rusty Star
SCARECROW HAT:
Raffia
Berry Pick
Square of Fabric
Small Leaves
Sunflower

First, I took the small bowl I chose and traced it out four times onto the burlap. I then cut all the circles out.

Second, I rolled each circle into a cone shape, making sure the tip was tight.

Third, as I rolled them into the cone shape, I used pins to secure the shape in place.

Fourth, I covered the cone shapes in Mod Podge and then smooshed them (yes, its a technical term lol) creating the hat shape.

Fifth, once the Mod Podge was dry, I removed the pins from each hat.

Sixth, I painted two of the hats with black paint.

Seventh, I used Mod Podge to secure a square of Muslin onto the side of the hat, then I used the stamp to add the October 31 to that.

Eighth, I tied a long piece of the coffee dyed cheese cloth around the base of the hat. I then secured a rusty bell to the cheese cloth using the rusty pin. After that I used Mod Podge to secure the rusty star toward the top of the hat.

Ninth, I used a bunch of Raffia to tie around the base of the scarecrow hat. I then used Mod Podge to add some of the Fall leaves and secure the berry pick.

Tenth, I secured the sunflower to the front using Mod Podge.

Finally, I cut a small square of fabric and used Mod Podge to secure it to the side of the hat.

Here are the final results of both hats, what do you think? I love that there were so many different ways you could make these into your own and how the ones I chose to do came out! I’m hoping you love these DIY Burlap Witch Hats and give them a try too!
